Small plane crashes near Newtok

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - The pilot of a small plane was injured over the weekend in a crash just outside Newtok. The National Transportation Safety Board's Clint Johnson says the plane departed from Bethel and crashed at about 4 p.m. Saturday about a mile and a half outside the village in southwest Alaska. Johnson says four people were onboard the plane operated by Hageland aviation. He says the pilot received minor injuries but the others were reported to be OK. The plane was badly damaged.
