- FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Fairbanks police say the death of a 58-year-old woman who was found injured in a homeless camp has been ruled a homicide and a suspect has been arrested. The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner says police believe 57-year-old Rick Allen is responsible for the death of Ellen Florence Juneby Rada, who was found unconscious with life-threatening injuries June 28. She died Sunday at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. Police say Allen has been arrested on a charge of second-degree murder. Detective Peyton Merideth says witness statements led police to identify Allen as a suspect.
The Juneby family is from Eagle Village. They lost another family member on July 1, when 71-year-old Isaac Juneby died in a car crash in Anchorage. He had come to the city to be with his sister.
