Eagle River man shot during attempted drug deal

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police say a 27-year-old Eagle River man was grazed by a bullet while attempting to buy drugs. The man's name was not released and police say his wound is not life-threatening. Police at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday took a call of shots fired in the parking lot of the Alaska Club in downtown Eagle River. Witnesses said an altercation took place and one man took out a gun and fired at the other. Police found blood in the parking lot but no victim. The shooting victim called police at 10:40 p.m. He said he paid money to the shooter but received no drugs. He said that he tried to get his money back and the man shot him. The shooter was described as 5-feet-8, about 275 pounds, and possibly Hispanic.
