- JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - An 18-year-old Hoonah man has been charged with injuring his infant child. The Juneau Empire reports that Michael T. Williams was indicted by a Juneau grand jury on two counts of assault. He pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, and a July trial date was set. Authorities allege Williams did not provide his then 5-week-old daughter with the necessary medical attention after a January incident. Prosecutors say he did admit to squeezing the girl and causing injuries to her face. He claims it was an accident; he almost dropped the baby, and the injuries were caused when he squeezed too hard when grabbing her. The child received medical care several days after being injured.
