JBER Army team to train in explosives clearance

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Officials at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson say soldiers will participate in explosives-clearance training and airborne exercises. Officials say participants in Tuesday's training are members of A Company, 425th Brigade Special Troops Battalion. The soldiers are part of the 4th Brigade Combat (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division. The exercises are set to begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue through the day. According to officials, participants will parachute from C-17 planes to JBER's Malemute Drop Zone, moving to a training area to the west. The explosives-clearance training will involve destroying wire-mine obstacles.
