- JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - U.S. Rep. Don Young has a series of public events planned in southeast Alaska during the congressional break. They include a community meeting in Ketchikan Tuesday afternoon, an address to the Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday and participation in the Choose Respect rally and march in Juneau on Thursday. Young also plans to attend a military appreciation banquet in Fairbanks on Friday. The House Ethics Committee last week announced that it was forming a special panel to investigate whether Young had failed to report gifts on his annual disclosure forms, misused campaign funds and lied to federal officials. Young's spokesman has not addressed the allegations specifically but has said that Young has cooperated with the committee and will continue to do so.
