- FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) — The 5-year-old boy who died in a North Pole fire last week has been identified as Elijah J. Gayramon. State Troopers released the name Saturday but say no additional information is available about the fire Friday in a duplex. Fire crews responded just after 4:30 p.m. to the fire. Some was pouring from the front door of a downstairs apartment. The fire was confined to a bedroom but smoke heavily damaged other parts of the building. North Star Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jeff Tucker tells the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner that damage is estimated at $40,000.
