- JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - University of Alaska President Pat Gamble is set to address legislators on the state of the public university system. Gamble is scheduled to appear before a joint meeting of the House and Senate Education committees on Wednesday afternoon. The university system has one of the biggest agency budgets in the state. There is routinely debate about funding for major projects for the system. An Anchorage senator has proposed legislation that would provide more than $100 million to finish constructing two engineering buildings at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the University of Alaska Anchorage.
