- KENAI, Alaska (AP) - The operator of a Kenai massage parlor faces sex-trafficking charges after police say a month-long investigation found evidence that women were induced into prostitution. The Peninsula Clarion reports 49-year-old Karen Carpenter, the operator of Gifted Hands Massage, faces three counts of felony sex trafficking and a misdemeanor prostitution charge. Officers also arrested 19-year-old Madison Murrieta of Kenai for misdemeanor prostitution and issued a summons to 20-year-old Jonah Lange, of Ninilchik, for the same charge. Kenai Lt. David Ross says Carpenter, Murrieta and Lange were the only three people police were aware of working at the establishment.
