Animal lovers gather in Anchorage

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Animal lovers are trying to get more people involved in animal advocacy. Channel-2 News says Alaska state lawmakers and Anchorage Assembly members were among those who gathered Sunday to review laws regarding animals. The three-hour meeting was organized by the Anchorage Animal Control Advisory Board. Local pet sitters, pet owners and people interested in volunteering with animal groups also were among those who attended. Organizer Kayla Epstein says she hopes to see more people become involved in the discussion of animal advocacy. She says some animal advocacy legislation hasn't passed in the past because of a lack of input.
