- JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Alaska is keeping its minimum wage pegged at 50 cents over the federal minimum wage at $7.75 an hour. That means that an Alaskan working a normal work week would gross $15,500 a year. The Juneau Empire says that puts Alaska in the top 10 states for minimum wages. The District of Columbia and 18 states peg minimum wage to the federal rate. Four states are below federal rates while five have no minimum at all.
