- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Proceeds from an Anchorage ice cream sundae sale are going to help the homeless. Channel-2 News says sales of the sundaes at Tastee-Freez will benefit the Salvation Army's McKinnell house. Santa was on hand to greet at the Sunday afternoon event. The Salvation Army says the fundraiser has been held for more than 10 years. The McKinnell house is the only emergency shelter in Anchorage for two-parent families who face homelessness. The Salvation Army says this year's event had the best attendance ever, with more than 100 children taking pictures with Santa.
