- JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A bar owner has been sentenced to 80 days in jail for not paying a city sales tax in Douglas. The Juneau Empire reports 55-year-old Patrick M. Peterson also must pay nearly $55,000. Of that, about $39,000 is restitution for not paying taxes from December 2009 to June 2012, and the remainder was in late fees and interest. Peterson, who owns PP's Douglass Inn, was sentenced Friday. He said he used the money to pay for legal fees for his daughter, who has been charged with assault in Washington state. A judge told him to report to jail after the holidays.
