- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police have issued an Amber Alert after they say a woman removed her newborn baby boy from the Alaska Native Medical Center on Tuesday. Police are looking for 30-year-old Monica Vasquez. Police say they are concerned for the safety of both Vasquez and the child. Police say they responded just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to a possible child abduction report at the medical center. Police say the focus shifted when it was discovered Vasquez left the hospital with her newborn. The Amber Alert triggered statewide notifications of the search for Vasquez and her 7-pound baby, Max Galo. Police are also looking for the father, Taimata Galo Jr. and have issued warrants for Vasquez and him, charging them both with criminal non-support.
