Juneau woman charged with home arson

- JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A 44-year-old Juneau woman has been charged with starting two small fires in a home she shares with her ex-husband. Juneau police say Lisa Catherine Ritter lit two fires in the home near Lena Cove. The Juneau Empire reports Ritter was charged with felony arson and remained jailed Wednesday with bail set at $15,000. Online court records did not indicate whether she had an attorney. Police say Ritter had argued with her ex-husband and woke him to say she was burning the house down. The man smelled smoke and found fires in a kitchen garbage can and a cardboard box on the kitchen table. He extinguished both and called police. Ritter told prosecutors she didn't intend to burn down the house but was trying to get her husband's attention.
