Togiak officer charged with sexual abuse of minor

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 22-year-old village police officer in Togiak has been charged with sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl.  Daniel A. Gonzalez was arraigned Saturday in Dillingham on a charge of felony sexual abuse of a minor. He remained jailed Tuesday in Dillingham on $10,000 bail. The public defender's office in Dillingham referred questions to the Anchorage office, which didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. State Troopers say Gonzalez had sexual relations with the girl last month in his city-owned cruiser, but was off-duty at the time. The village's attorney, Louisiana Cutler in Anchorage, declined comment and wouldn't say whether Gonzalez was still employed. Gonzalez's next court date is Friday. Togiak, a community of nearly 900 residents, is located about 65 miles west of Dillingham.
