- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 21-year-old package delivery driver has been charged with stealing from clients. The Anchorage Daily News reports UPS worker Benjamin Bassler was charged Oct. 22 with felony and misdemeanor theft. Anchorage police say he stole a wallet and a planner with credit cards from a church and an alcohol distributor. Police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro says video surveillance showed Bassler delivering a package to the ChangePoint Alaska church office and taking a wallet from an employee's cubicle. The discarded wallet and a planner belonging to an employee at K&L Distributors, where Bassler had delivered the same day, were found in the parking lot of Century 16 theaters. Castro says Bassler acknowledged eating his lunch in the parking lot and tossing out the stolen items. Bassler is free on $1,000 bail.
