Jul 19, 2013 -- 12:45pm
- JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A federal grand jury has indicted a big game guide from Haines on nine counts, including smuggling and false labeling to conceal an illegal hunt. The indictment also charges three one-time clients of John Katzeek with conspiracy and filing false documents. They are identified as Brian Hicken, Kenneth Cox and Tyler Antal, all of Alberta, Canada. A court date was not immediately set. Katzeek said Friday that he had not seen anything related to the charges. The indictment alleges the men conspired to transport and export unlawfully taken mountain goats on hunts that occurred in 2010 and 2011 in the Haines area. It also alleges that Katzeek conspired with another person, not identified by name in the indictment, to illegally import from Canada Dall sheep horns.
